Project Overview
Creating a Cozy Brand that Celebrates Community
Delaware Coffee Co. was expanding their event space to include a coffee shop, aiming to create a brand that seamlessly integrated with their existing aesthetic while resonating with the local community. They sought a design that would embody the Scandinavian concept of "hygge"—a sense of coziness and home—while also celebrating the rich historical heritage of Independence, MO. Yes! Give us all the cozy coffee!

Branding
The 5Five team collaborated with Delaware Coffee Co. to craft a brand that was both meaningful and memorable, combining a modern aesthetic with nods to the area’s unique history.
Logo Design:
Incorporated three coffee beans, representing the three historic trails that began in Independence.
Featured a “D” for Delaware Street.
Included a subtle homage to Harry Truman’s cane, a symbol of Independence, MO.
Unified all elements into a coffee cup, creating a cohesive and engaging visual story.
Aesthetic: Designed branding with a minimalist, clean style to complement the existing event space while evoking a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Cultural Connection: Infused the Scandinavian concept of "hygge" into the brand’s tone and visuals, fostering a sense of comfort and belonging.

"Lyssa and 5Five Design have been incredible to work with! We came to her for assistance with our marketing when starting a coffee shop out of our already operational event space. She took our vision and made it into a marketing reality with such detail and care. Customers constantly are acknowledging the work Lyssa created for us as it touches on our Independence Square history and is a fun conversational starter too!"
